Douglas Spafford

Douglas Spafford has been passionate about acting for as long as he can remember. Born in the UK, he moved to the Northern Territory of Australia at a young age, where he maintained his motivation for the performing arts through school performances.

Quickly capitalising on his graduation from school, Douglas attended the acting course at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Screen and Stage (Acting). During his time at university he was incredibly focused on character research both in and out of class. He particularly enjoyed projects set to historical backdrops, which allowed him to delve into the actual events that scripts are based on.

With a deep admiration for both actors and their counterparts behind the scenes, Douglas developed his skills on stage, in front of the camera and in the recording studio. He even featured in projects outside of university while studying, such as an advertisement for bipolar disorder awareness and a local short play festival. Fully committed to any role he receives, Douglas shows a particular penchant for theatre and voice acting, but by no means ignores the other disciplines.

He moved to Sydney early in 2017 and has been involved in productions of Shakespeare’s The Tempest and a stage adaption of The Jungle Book. In his spare time Douglas narrates public domain poetry, which he shares on his professional Facebook page to maintain his skills.
