Earlier this year Lockwood wrote Muttaburrasaurus for Spare Part?s and recently completed a successful season at The Blue Room Theatre of his production Nature as explained by Theatre. Phillip Mackenzie has been acting in community and professional theatre since the 1960s in Perth, Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide and Mackay. Since 1986 he has appeared in a range of TV and screen commercials, in-house training and promotional videos and as Smith MP in George Whaley’s film version of On Our Selection (1994). Voice-over credits include work for the National War Memorial, NSW State Library, NSW Department of Health and, in 2009, a BHP-Billiton in-house presentation. Professional/cooperative roles in Perth since 2005 include A Girl in a Greatcoat (2006, dir Jenny Davis), Scheherazade (2007, dir Bruce Denny) and The Birthday Party (2008, dir Peter Clark). Phillip played Jock in The Club for Roleystone Theatre, Old Capulet (R & J) for Marloo, Dr Balanzoni (Venetian Twins) for The Old Mill in 2008. In 2009 he played Danforth in The Crucible (Roleystone) and King Lear in an excerpt directed by Melissa Merchant (Nexus Theatre, Murdoch Uni.) In 2007, after completing 12 months of hip hop dance classes, Josh performed as part of his class at the Octagon Theatre. During his acting training, Josh has been awarded ‘Best Male Actor 2008’ which was judged by Olivia Bouled of Jenni Cohen Casting and Jo Booth of 303 Advertising. During his modelling training Josh has gained a ‘Notice of Distinction’ Josh has a love of comedy and is a huge fan of Mr Bean, Billy Connelly, Stand Up Comedians and various comedy programs on TV. He was awarded and recognized in his home tow with many press interviews. In his current school he was selected to be part of PEAC Drama Program where he has been developing his skills. He has also won a scholarship to John Curtin College of the Arts. He has an innate talent for acting which he believes is in his genes from his father who was a great theatre performer in his early days. Arturo can perform on stage with confidence. He was raised as a free thinking person and is a charming boy with lots of charisma. Coming from a strong arts background, Nick has aspired to be an actor for most of his life. He completed his study as a specialist drama student at John Curtin College of the Arts in 2008, in which time he worked with directors such as Sally Richardson, Andrew Hale, Stuart Haulsz and Dalip Sondhi. Landing lead roles in Antigone, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and Caucasian Chalk Circle at the college, Nick is a stand out performer with great versatility and impeccable comic timing. He was also a founding member of the college’s improv class, where he received training from Glenn Hall, Xavier Michelides and Claire Hooper. Since leaving school, Nick’s Original Scripted Production was featured in Performing Arts Perspectives at His Majesty’s Theatre, and he has since been taken on as a (almost) full time professional role player. He has gone back to run master classes for current John Curtin students and his work is being used as an example for TEE Drama students around the state.
